Anyone can be an artist when given the right tools.
With eight years of experience as an educator, and a lifetime as an artist, I have a lot to offer students. I am creative, enthusiastic, dedicated, and eager to share the knowledge I have acquired through teaching art. Working with individuals across the spectrum of abilities, I have gained the classroom skills that inspire and motivate. Additionally, I have created and implemented lessons that cater to the needs of a diverse range of learners, while keeping in line with the curriculum and Common Core Standards. Though art is not always considered an academic subject, through my teaching experience I have come to realize the profound degrees in which incorporating art and other multisensory approaches can enhance learning in all aspects of a school’s academic curriculum.
My experience in working with challenging students has given me confidence in my ability to maintain order within a classroom, mutual respect, and a learning rich environment. Moreover, my teaching style and lesson plans have given students the opportunity to learn about themselves, as well as their immediate and global communities. I am passionate about my art and in my desire to help students uncover their hidden talents. It is this transformative quality that I can bring to the students with whom I work with. I love what I do!
